Gala de Printemps
Geneva's most anticipated evening of the season returns to the Beau-Rivage.
Each spring, Geneva's private society gathers at the Hôtel Beau-Rivage for an evening that marks, more than any other, the opening of the season. The Gala de Printemps is not announced publicly. It does not need to be.
This year's edition, held on the 14th of May, drew a gathering of approximately two hundred guests — collectors, bankers, diplomats, and a quiet contingent of those whose names appear in no directory.
The most interesting conversations in Geneva happen in rooms that don't appear on any programme.
The evening opened with a private viewing of works from a single collection — assembled over thirty years by a Geneva family who prefer not to be named. The works, spanning from the early twentieth century to the present, were displayed in the hotel's grand salon with the kind of care usually reserved for museum installations.
Dinner followed in the ballroom, with a menu conceived by a chef who divides his time between Geneva and Lyon. The conversation, as always, was the main event.
The next Gala de Printemps will take place in May 2027. Invitations are extended by personal introduction only.
